Good News! Arunachal Pradesh to get FTII

Guwahati, January 07: Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), announced that the second Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) shall be set up by the Union Government in Arunachal Pradesh.

Jitendra Singh announced about the establishment of FTII in the Northeastern state at the ‘Indian Entertainment Industry: Global Leader in Making’ conference organised by Bharat Niti and South India Film Chamber of Commerce yesterday.

The first FTII was established in Pune in 1960 and started in courses in 1961 and is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
