Photographer from Assam captures his present hometown and it’s BEAUTIFUL

August 19! Yes, today is World Photography Day! For photographers, photography is their second home and on this occasion, we bring to you a series of photographs of someone’s present hometown.

Photographer from Assam, Koushik Baruah, captured his present hometown that is none other than the beautiful city of Gangtok, Sikkim and yes, the captures are what the combination of a good photographer and this heavenly places promises. They are AWESOME!

“In these pictures, I am trying to capture the beauty of the Gangtok. The Kanchenjunga peak to the busy traffic, all photos were clicked with a Canon SX 410. Photos were taken in different weather and time to get the perfect desired click. Sikkim is a great place to visit, it is known not only for its beauty but also for its cleanliness and organic agriculture” says Koushik in a rendezvous with Team UniTreed.

Hailing from Lakhimpur, Assam, Koushik is currently pursuing Integrated MSc from Central University of Sikkim. He is the founder of “Optics Foundation”, an youth organisation that works for Science, Technology, Society and Environment. He is also the editor of “Bigyan Darpan”, a Science cum Entrepreneurship magazine from Assam.
