Tripura | CM seeks centre’s assistance to deal with flood situation

Guwahati, June 14: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday, in a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, discussed the flood situation in the state and appealed for immediate assistance from the centre in rescue and evacuation operations.

Deb sought assistance from the Indian Army in rescue operations in the state.

It may be mentioned here that incessant rain for three days has triggered flood and landslides in Tripura, forcing thousands of people to take shelter in relief camps.

The CM also requested Singh to increase the number of NDRF personnel in the state.
