Gangtok, April 19: Students of Sikkim University (Sikkim Central University) staged a protest today against the administration, demanding a permanent campus of the university.
It may be mentioned that the university has completed 11 years of establishment and still lacks a permanent consolidated campus.
“Till now, our permanent campus is not completed by the authorities. There is no proper hostel, classroom and other facilities” says a protesting student.
“Due to the fault of the authority, we need to pay a huge amount of money as room rent. No one cares about the students. So, from today, we the students of Sikkim University with the help of Sikkim University Students Association (SUSA) are protesting against the administration, demanding for a permanent campus” said another student.
The protesting students have alleged failure of administration and management of the University.
