“Due to the fault of the authority, we need to pay a huge amount of money as room rent. No one cares about the students. So, from today, we the students of Sikkim University with the help of Sikkim University Students Association (SUSA) are protesting against the administration, demanding for a permanent campus” said another student.

The protesting students have alleged failure of administration and management of the University.

Many students have alleged that the government too has not provided adequate funds to the university which has 32 departments.
It may be mentioned that the university got the 61st rank among all universities of India in 2016, which is now 189.
