Stones thrown at Australia Cricket Team’s bus after match at Barsapara

Guwahati, October 11: “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!” tweeted Australia’s Aaron Ficnh.

The incident took place yesterday after India lost the second T20 of the series against Australia.

The team was returning to their hotel from the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati after their glorious eight-wicket win over India, while some miscreants pelted stones at the coach they were travelling in.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Vice President Debojit Saikia informed that they have lodged a complaint with the police regarding the incident. According to sources, the Garchuk Police Station has arrested some suspects involved in the incident.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condemned the incident saying the it was done with the sole objective of defaming Assam.

It must be noted that the loss in Guwahati marked the end of an eight-match winning streak for India in T20 format against the Australians. Also, this was the first ever International Match at the Barsapara Stadium.
