Gangtok, April 21: The administration of Sikkim University has promised the students a permanent campus within three years after hundreds of student came out in a protest against the administration demanding a permanent campus.
In a letter addressed to the President of the Sikkim University Students Union (SUSA), the administration of the university has stated that it is committed to for construction of campus within three years.
The letter also states that the university shall make all efforts to get funds from the MHRD and UGC to fulfill the commitment of constructing a new campus.
Also, the progress report on campus construction will be given to SUSA every three months.
Students of the university have welcomed this step of the administration and put a halt to the protests.
