Sikkim | Another SNT bus catches fire within 3 days

Gangtok, May 01: Two days after the Teesta fire incident, another bus belonging to Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) was about to catch fire today on the National Highway between Gangtok and Singtam.

Though the fire was controlled in the initial phase of burning and everyone on board escaped safely, the passengers have raised concerns over safety. Reason of fire is still unknown and is thought to be caused by technical glitch.

On April 28, an SNT Bus had caught fire near the Teesta Bridge in West Bengal, where the bus was completely destroyed. The passengers and driver escaped unhurt; however, luggage and belongings of the passengers could not be saved.
