Guwahati, february 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday launched development schemes worth Rs 1,000 crore for the Union Territory of Daman & Diu, along with inaugurating a flight that connects the coastal town of Diu with Ahmedabad.
Modi also laid the foundation stones for numerous projects in the region, that includes a gas pipeline, water treatment plant, municipal market, foor bridge and an electric sub station. He also inaugurated Anganwadis and Schools constructed under CSR activities.
The PM also distributed e-rickshaws women and scooters to differently abled beneficiaries. He informed that schemes worth Rs 1,000 crore were taken up for the development of the Union Territory.
People of Daman & Diu had gathered in large numbers to greet the PM on his visit to the Union Territory.
