NSCN (K) claims responsibility for ambush, says 6 Assam Rifles jawans killed

Guwahati, June 18: Banned Naga outfit NSCN (K) has claimed responsibility for the ambush between them and Assam Rifles on Sunday. As per reports received earlier, two Assam Rifles jawans were martyred in the ambush.

However, in a statement today, the outfit has claimed that six security personnel were killed on the spot and an equal number injured in the attack.

An Assam Rifles official had yesterday informed that two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred in the ambush near Aboi in Mon district.

The martyred jawans are Havildar Fateh Singh Negi and Sepoy Hungnga Konyak, the official had said.
