New Volvo B11Rs to start service in Assam this Tuesday

Guwahati, January 19: Three month after their arrival at ISBT, Guwahati, Assam, the Volvo buses that were introduced under PPP model between Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), Assam and Dadwal Transporters, Punjab shall finally start serving passengers from January 23 (Tuesday). It must be noted that there are two models which shall be plying on the roads of Assam – B11R and B8R.

The routes of B11R have been ascertained, by our sources, as Guwahati to Sivasagar and North Lakhimpur to Siliguri via Guwahati. The B8R model shall ply on the on the Guwahati Sadiya route; it may also start serving from Dhubri to Sadiya but the route has not been ascertained yet. The owner of Dadwal Transporters, Punjab, has confirmed the routes with our sources.

The buses are going to start service on the routes from evening on January 23; a meeting is also being organised on January 21 with the Transport Minister and concerned officials for inauguration of the bus service.
