Guwahati, July 01: Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday inaugurated the 100-bedded maternity and child health wing at SMK Civil Hospital, Nalbari.
The wing has been built built at a cost of Rs 23 crore. This takes total strength of the hospital to 335 beds with 41 doctors along with all modern facilities.
Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika and MLA Ashok Sarma were also present at the event.
Sarma also reviewed site of Nalbari Medical College and Hospital in presence of the DC and PWD officials.
“We hope to start construction of the college from August end and complete it within 24 months. Once ready, this hospital shall immensely help people of this region” Sarma said.
