Meghalaya | Orientation Programme on VVPAT organised for political parties

Shillong, January 05: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong conducted a half day orientation programme for various political parties of the state of Meghalaya on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District  from 12:00 pm onwards.

A detailed and thorough presentation on the functioning of the Electronic Voting Machine and the VVPAT was made, followed by practical session on the functioning of the various components of the EVM including the VVPAT. The session included mock poll and verification of the slips dispensed by the VVPAT, wherein the representatives of various political parties participated.

The session was attended by the representatives of the following political parties:

  • lndian National Congress
  • Bharatiya Janata Party
  • Nationalist Congress Party
  • United Democratic Party
  • Peoples Democratic Front
