Shillong, December 23: State Urban Affairs Minister RV Lyngdoh on December 21 launched the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme (CMHAP) under Mylliem C&RD Block at Pomlum Secondary School, Baniun in the presence of AL Hek, MLA, MN Nampui, Secretary, Housing department, members of Housing Block Selection Committees of Mylliem, Mawpat and Mawlai C&RD Blocks, beneficiaries and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Lyngdoh informed that the aim and objective of the CMHAP, initiated by the state government, is to provide durable roofing materials to improve existing houses of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and also to provide dwelling houses to the Low Income Group (LIG) families living in the state. He also added that the scheme is being implemented both in rural and urban areas of the state.
During the programme, Lyngdoh and others dignitaries distributed aluminium sheets to beneficiaries drawn from Mylliem, Mawpat and Mawlai C&RD Blocks. Lyngdoh also distributed seeding money to farmers under the Meghalaya Livestock Mission of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.
