Manipuri Officer in India’s first all-women naval crew that set sail for world expedition

Guwahati, September 10: Six naval officers have embarked upon a first-of-its-kind circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew of the Indian Navy today. According to sources, They will sail first to Freemantle in Western Australia, a journey expected to take 37 days.

The expedition shall be led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi and they will sail on board INSV Tarini.

It is a proud moment for the Northeast as a crew member for this mission S Vijaya Devi is from Manipur.
