Guwahati, 27th February 2018: On the occasion of World Spay Day 2018, JBF has observed the month of February as Spay Month and performed several birth control surgeries for street and community dogs of different localities of Guwahati.
Besides, JBF also promoted awareness through social media, about the World Spay Day 2018 and to have birth control operation of pet dogs done, as well as community dogs. However, unfortunately, very few people turned up for the purpose. JBF thus extends their offer for the next one month till March 27, 2018 to let people avail the opportunity.

Also, to create awareness among the people, the team of JBF distributed leaflets and visited Guwahati Municipal Corporation office, Mayor’s office and Deputy Commissioner’s office to felicitate officials and make them aware about the increasing dog population of Guwahati city and the importance of ABC-ARV surgeries (Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination) of stray dogs.
World Spay Day
World Spay Day is an event, which draws attention to spay/neuter of companion animals, community (feral and stray) cats and street dogs in order to control their population and save their lives from being in shelter or meeting any accident. This event finally ends on the last Tuesday of February each year. This year, it ended on February 27, 2018.
