Guwahati, September 01: The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) started distribution of 5 kg FTL (Free Trade LPG ) cylinders in the city. In a bid to facilitate the necessity of floating population, the Fortune 500 company inaugurated its first ever retail outlet in Guwahati.

Executive Director, Indian Oil AOD State Office, Dipankar Ray inaugurated the outlet at Chhaganmal Sarawgi and Sons Petrol pump at Dispur on today on the occasion of the Corporation’s 54th Indian Oil Day. “Xpress Car Wash”, a car washing centre was also inaugurated during the event.
On the occasion, the Executive director has also launched a customer awareness programme at Ambika Service Station petrol Pump at Zoo tiniali. Titled “AASTHA”, the initiative is a unique step taken by Indian Oil AOD State Office and first of a kind in the country to make customers aware of the presence of IOCL representatives whenever the Petrol pump is under regular inspection. Currently the activity is regularly being carried out by concerned officers of Indian Oil, mostly unknown to the customers. The objective of the initiative is to make the customers aware about the sincerity that goes behind assuring the quality, quantity and safety at the retail outlet and hence elevating confidence. As per the new initiative, IOCL and Retail Outlet representatives will be putting on specially designed attire, and standees will be placed in prominent places for visibility. Customers can interact with the IOCL representatives whenever they are available at the retail outlets.
