Guwahati, October 06: JBF (INDIA) Trust, an NGO based in Guwahati that works for animal welfare, celebrated World Animal Day (October 04) and World Rabies Day (September 28) 2017 yesterday by organizing a free anti-rabies vaccination and health check up camp at HIYAA’s Pet Clinic at Ghoramara Chariali, Guwahati. building a rabies free society.

It must be noted that according to the WHO, around 59,000 people die from rabies across the world each year, with around 90% of these deaths occurring among children living in rural areas of Africa and Asia. One death case occurs every 15 minutes worldwide and 99% of human cases result from dog bites.
A target of ‘Zero Death’ by 2030 and to build a rabies free Assam is the prime mission of JBF, said a press release issued by the NGO.
Seeing positive response from the people and keeping in mind their urge to know more about rabies and pet health, JBF has decided to repeat the camp again on Saturday, October 07 between 4:00-8:00 pm.
