Guwahati, March 31: The fifth Indo-Kyrgyzstan joint training exercise ‘KHANJAR V‘ ended on Thursday in Mizoram. The closing ceremony was held at the Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare School, Vairengte in Mizoram.
The exercise between India and Kyrgyzstan began on March 16 and lasted for a period of two weeks. KHANJAR V included sharing of practices between the two nations, understating of tactics and development of inter-operability.
The exercise involved insertion of troops by slithering from helicopters and destroying terrorist hideout among others, said an official statement.
“The joint training exercise demonstrated the commitment of both armies in working together with each other to address the growing issue of global terrorism in all its forms” the statement added.
The exercise was a success and has taught valuable lessons to the troops of both the countries, officials said.
