Father of the Meghalaya Scouts Movement no more

Shillong, January 24: “The entire ranks and fraternity of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides (MBSG) are deeply shocked at the sudden demise of the “Father of the Scout Movement, Meghalaya” Honsen Lyngdoh” said a condolence message issued by State Secretary of MBSG. “The Bharat Scouts and Guides in Meghalaya has lost the great Leader, Guide, Supporter and Philanthropist” the message added.

Honsen Lyngdoh, Vice Patron, was associated with the movement for the last 38 years and was honoured with the Bharat Scouts and Guides’ highest National Award – The Silver Elephant – by Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India, in 2015 and the Bharat Scouts and Guides Fellow Medal in 2016, besides other awards and recognition for his immense contribution to the movement in the state as well as the National level.

“The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides has lost a tall stalwart whose void cannot be filled. The members express sincerest condolences to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. God will surely reward him for the kindness and support that he has given to all. May his soul rest in peace” added the message issued by the MBSG.
