CSR campaign on Road Safety and Traffic Rules organised by Prodigy | Guwahati

Prodigy Communications and Marketing Pvt. Ltd, a 360 degree Communications and marketing agency which started its venture on 10th August’ 2005, on its 10th year of inception joined hands with the Traffic department and came up with a CSR activity named Alert today, Alive Tomorrow on Traffic Safety Awareness on August 2. Prodigy believes that most road accidents are caused due to minor faults, which can be curbed if a little awareness is embedded in each individual.

Alert today, Alive Tomorrow was planned with the objective of sensitizing and creating awareness with the General Masses about following the Traffic Rules to reduce the risk of injuries and casualties that occur due to road accidents by flouting them. This was organized for the first time in 2015 in a grand way, where eminent celebrities, bureaucrats, government officials etc. were present. “This year we are planning to make this activity bigger, in terms of Public Outreach, Visibility and Participation. Through this campaign we want to aware the masses about the importance of road safety and traffic rules. We feel proud to announce Mr Diganta Das, a renowned Journalist as the Brand ambassador for this campaign and believe that this will give a prominent face and recognition to this cause”, says Mr. Nitin Jain, Managing Director, Prodigy Communications and Marketing Pvt. Ltd.

Mr Diganta Das, Brand Ambassador of the campaign adds, “I have survived from a major accident in my life and hence am quite aware of how important it is to be cautions when on the road- either as the driver or pedestrian. We are need to be more responsible and only then can we make Guwahati safer and curb road accidents. Through this campaign if we are able to spread the word even to a small bunch of people we would consider ourselves successful. One individual’s cautious and careful behavior can save many lives”.

The activity shall begin on 6th August’ 2017 from 9 am and get over by 1pm. A customized setup will be organized at the intersection near Rajiv Bhawan, GS road. A Rally would be followed after the campaign is flagged off, with a gathering of around 250 of participants in Bikes and Cars. The rally would be covering Ganeshguri, Zoo Road, Chandmari, Silpukhuri, Guwahati Club and DGP office. The participants shall include Government officials, Celebrities, Bureaucrats, Students etc to promote the cause. The Bikers and the Cars will carry the flags and traffic safety rules stickers during the rally. The drivers from the oncoming traffic, whoever diligently and properly follows the Traffic Safety Rule shall be awarded with a gift and the ones not following the rules shall be penalized.

Talking about the campaign, Shri Kulendra Nath Deka, ACP, Traffic says, “We at Guwahati Traffic Police Department are taking all measures to reduce the number of accidents caused by reckless and careless driving. It is very important for the person on the driving seat to be aware of the fact that he is in a very responsible position and not only his life, but a lot many lives depends on his alertness. One wrong move can cost many lives. I also congratulate Prodigy for taking up this topic as their CSR campaign, as this shall help to aware many people. The Guwahati Traffic Police summons its full support to this campaign.”
