CM inaugurates ‘Science on a Sphere’ at Regional Science Centre, Guwahati

Guwahati, March 16: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday inaugurated the  spherical projection system ‘Science on a Sphere‘ at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati.

The state-of- the-art facility can display live planetary data and will illustrate Earth System Science to students and science enthusiasts. It may be mentioned that the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati has become the first centre in Northeast India to have the equipment.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the CM said that science should empower the younger generation. “We should use science and technology to flourish in our lives and the betterment of the society” he added.

CM Sonowal also emphasized on popularising science and technology among the young students of the region.

The sphere has been installed at a cost of Rs 2.35 crore.
