Guwahati, March 05: Sunil Govil, General manager, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), Assam Telecom Circle informed that they have stopped providing intra circular roaming services to Aircel today onwards. The reason behind stopping this service is the lack of payment from Aircel’s side.
The General Manager also announced customer friendly tariff plans for both prepaid and postpaid users. Landline service users also got numerous benefits.
BSNL also plans to provide international Wi-Fi hotspots in tourist places in the region. The GM also informed that BSNL presently has 275 Wi-Fi hotspots in 165 rural areas of Assam.
Govil also announced that a recent Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) revealed that BSNL broadband connection has more speed than that of other 4G operators in the region. “Plans are being made to set up 4G soon, discussions are going on with the Dot” he added.
