BSF recovers silver ornaments worth over Rs 6 lakh in West Bengal

Guwahati, July 12: The Border Security Force (BSF) last Saturday recovered around 16 kg silver ornaments worth Rs 6.38 lakh from Nadia district in West Bengal.

Acting on a specific information, troopers of the 113 Battalion of BSF spotted and foiled a smuggling attempt in border area of BOP Halderpara.

Two Bangladeshi smugglers had approached the border fence while their Indian counterparts threw four packets over to the Bangladesh side. However, when the troopers challenged them, the smugglers ran away but left the packets behind, informed officials of the BSF.
