Assam’s Village Rockstars shines at 65th National Film Awards

Guwahati, April 13: In another proud moment for the state, Assamese film ‘Village Rockstars‘ has bagged four awards at the 65th National Film Awards.

The awards are:

  • Best Feature Film (Producer and Director: Rima Das)
  • Best Child Artist (Bhanita Das)
  • Best Editing (Rima Das)
  • Best Audiography (Mallika Das)

Village Rockstars is about a 10-year-old girl living in a remote village in northeast India and her fight against stereotypes and poverty to pursue her dream of owning a guitar and forming a rock band.

It may be mentioned that it had become the first film from the Northeast to go to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The film has brought several laurels to the state and the awards bagged by it seems to be never ending.
