Assam Rifles recovers huge cache of arms and ammunition in Kohima

Kohima, June 04: The Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted an operation near Kohima Science college, Jotsoma on June 03 and recovered two rifles, three guns, two pistols, one pen pistol, three magazines, 146 live rounds, passive night vision binocular and cash amounting to Rs 10,87,057 along with extortion papers.

The cash included Indian currency as well as US dollars.

The operation was carried out by Assam Rifles and Police representatives, after receiving specific inputs on possession of illegal arms and ammunition.

No arrest have been made in this regard. The recoveries were handed over to Zubza Police Station for further investigation.
