All Assam Motor Transport Association calls for ‘Chaka Bandh’ on June 4

Guwahati, June 02: The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has called for a 24-hour Chaka Bandh on June 04 and 48 hour Chaka Bandh June 11, demanding increase in the fare of vehicles and protesting against the increase in fuel prices.

Members of the organisation have said that the fare is fixed but fuel prices are ever increasing. “We want the government to revise the fare structure keeping in mind the prevailing fuel prices” they added.

AAMTA members have said that if the government does not meet their demands after the protests, the organisation shall come up with a prolonged strike.
