Bobby Sarma Baruah is among the ten filmmakers and artistes from Asia who were selected to participate in the event in Madrid.
The guests will be provided with a guided tour of the city with the aim of promoting the versatile locations that the place offer for all types of audiovisual projects.
Baruah is currently busy with the post-production works of her upcoming movie ‘Mishing’, which is based on the novel with the same name written by renowned litterateur Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi. Shot in some of the most beautiful locations in Arunachal Pradesh, the story deals with folklore of the Sherdukpen people.
Primarily aimed at emerging Asian filmmakers and artistes, the event organised in collaboration with the Asia Film Industry Association in Spain & Latin America (AFIAS) and the Spain Moving Images Festival, intends to promote and encourage filming in the region of Madrid, which figures among the world’s top cinematic cities, alongside New York, Paris and Tokyo.
A subsidiary of the Office of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Region of Madrid Government, Film Madrid aims to boost the audio-visual industry through actions aimed at coordinating and aiding filming requests and by offering practical information to all those producers that choose locations in the region of Madrid to film their productions.
