Guwahati, March 09: The first regional film on sanitation ‘Ajanite Mone Mone‘ produced by Swachh Bharat Gramin (Assam), under the banner of Ratna productions launched the premiere show at Banikanta Kakati
Auditorium, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra today.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the premiere. Other eminent guests present were PHED Minister Rihon and Film Director Daimary, Upkaul Bordoloi among others.
Ajanite Mone Mone is a full length Assamese film that revolves around the central theme of sanitation.
The CM has appreciated and applauded the whole team of Ajanite Mone Mone. During his speech, he said “Making India the cleanest country is our Prime Minister’s dream. We should all aim to fulfill this dream by contributing our efforts by keeping our environment clean. If every ward takes up the cause and decides to contribute towards the cause, no one can stop in making Guwahati the cleanest city”.
Sonowal also requested to everyone present in the event to do their part of making the city clean in any way they can. He also mentioned that this team of Ajanite Mone Mone is the first and only team in the entire regional film fraternity to take up the the topic of sanitation as a subject for the film.
Talking about the film, Director Upakul Bordoloi said “I am extremely glad to be a part of such a memorable moment where the Assamese Film Industry is creating a benchmark among all regional films, by taking up such an important and social issue, as a subject to be filmed”. “The main motive behind making this film would be successful only if we can create an impact in everyone’s mind and ensure a clean and Swachh Assam” he added.
The core value of the film focuses on the issues of Open Defecation, aiming at making Swachh Bharat Mission a Jana Andolan. The film has released today in 45 theatres across Assam.
