20 journalists of Assam awarded media fellowship by Government

Guwahati, May 23: The Assam Government today awarded media fellowship to 20 journalists of the state at an event held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched the Media Fellowship 2018 scheme for 20 journalists and Press Tour programme to Rajasthan for rural journalists, which is an initiative of the Information and Public Relations Department (DIPR) of Assam.

State DIPR’s magazine ‘Antaranga‘ was also launched on the occasion.

Appreciating the role of media in strengthening the unity and brotherhood in society, the CM reiterated efforts of the government to deliver good governance and root out corruption from the state.

He also urged members of the press to play a proactive role in efforts against corruption.

Sonowal also informed that the fellowship program would be further extended to include more journalists.
