Duliajan, March 19: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today distributed 150 power tillers, 50 pick-up vans and financial assistance to 200 Joint Liabilities Groups under Project Rupantar, which is a CSR initiative of Oil India Limited and SIPRD (State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development), Assam at Bihutoli, Duliajan.
Speaking at the event, the CM lauded the initiatives of Oil India Limited and SIPRD. He added that OIL (Oil India Limited) has made significant contribution in Assam’s growth.
Also, the state government and OIL had signed a Rs 10,000 crore MoU at the recently held Advantage Assam Global Investors Summit. Sonowal also called upon the people to keep continuing their support towards OIL. Chief Managing Director of OIL Utpal Bora, Dibrugarh MP Rameswar Teli and local MLA Naresh Sonowal were also present at the event.
The CM also attended the final match of Inter Academy Master League Under-11 Football Tournament organised by the Assam Youth Development Forum in Duliajan.
Sonowal said that it was inspiring to see youth taking up the sport with such enthusiasm. He congratulated them and wished them all a bright future.
