Phagun Phular Porot | Music that flows smooth

Guwahati, December 12: Phagun Phular Porot, an Assamese Music Album, was released on the 19th of November at the Guwahati Press Club by Singer Shahrukh Ahmed and one has to totally agree that the tracks are among the most beautiful ones of recent time. The very talented Tarali Sarma has also lent her voice as a guest singer.

“The album is an initiative to deviate listeners from the so called Modern Assamese Music that we come across these days” says Shahrukh in a rendezvous with Team UniTreed. And we, at Team UniTreed, totally agree that the album is undoubtedy a smooth and peaceful deviation from what we hear sometimes, even though we do not want to (we won’t be naming here).

It must be noted that Shahrukh Ahmed had been the Best Singer of Bajali College for three years and the Best Singer of Gauhati University for the session 2014-15. It must be noted that Shahrukh has sung the theme song of “Namami Brahmaputra” (Kamrup District) along with Tarali Sarma.

Shahrukh has also sung as a playback singer in numerous mobile theatres of Assam that include Kohinoor, Rajtilak, Bordoisila, Itihaas and Pragjyotish Theatre among others.

Composition of Phagun Phular Porot is by Shahrukh, Ahir Bhairab and Hiranjit, whereas music direction is done by Tarali Sarma, Deepak Baruah, Manoj Sarma, Ahir Bhairab and Arnab Bashistha. Lyrics has been written by Dr Binita Bora Dev Choudhury and Parag DevChoudhury.

The album has been produced under the banner of Emon Creation.

Emon creation was formed in 1998 to promote healthy cultural activities among the youth. “Phagun Phular Porot” is the first audio album under the banner of Emon Creation, which is founded by Dr Binita Bora DevChoudhury, an Associate professor of Bajali College by profession. After that she did her BMus in Violin on 2001 under the supervision of Deepak Barua, an eminent violinist of Assam. It must be noted that She has already published 18 translated books and three books of poetry til date.
