Sadiya, November 23: Located in Tinsukia District of Assam, Sadiya sits in the junction of three major rivers – Dihing, Dibang and Lohit. A place of historical and cultural importance, it has become a hotspot after the recent opening of the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge.
In an attempt to promote Sadiya as one of the main tourist destinations of the Northeast India, a unique project “Sadiya Festival” has been taken up by Nizarapara Youth Club in association with LAC Group, an event management firm based in Guwahati.
The first edition of the Sadiya Festival shall commence from November 26, 2017 and continue till the month of February, 2018. Adventure sports, local food, circus, socio-cultural meets, music and dance, showcase of culture and tradition, visit to exotic locations, etc are the highlights of the event.
The organising team shall provide camping sites, toilets and parking space, food and drinks along with picnic arena to the visitors. The festival shall be inaugurated by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on the 26th of November.
November 27 to December 09 shall witness music, dance, games, adventure sports, showcase of tribal culture and tradition from all over Assam among other events.
