Guwahati, April 27: The first Assamese Sci-Fi superhero movie is presently in the production stage. Yes! you heard it right.
Titled ADVITYA, the film is directed by Arindam Sharma, a certified filmmaker from Mumbai Film Academy and is made under the banner of Krrishna Kraft Productions and is produced by Brojendra Nath Sarma.
Assamese megastar Nipon Goswami will be seen playing a super villain, informed Arindam at a press meet in Jorhat on Sunday.
The first of a kind Assamese movie also stars Chiranjib Dutta, Vivek Bora, Priyam Pallavi, Anamika Barman, Niha Rani Das among others.
The story of the film, dialogues, direction and screenplay will be done by himself, said Arindam, who is a graduate from Kaziranga University. “The film will have special effects of the latest VFX and animation technologies, which still remain unexplored when it comes to regional cinema” he added.
He informed that the film will also be released in Bengali language. The film, being the first regional Sci-Fi superhero movie from Assam, is expected to pave way for directors of the region to explore the genre.
The film is expected to release by 2020.
