Manipur film wins award for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation

Manipuri film ‘Loktak Lairembee’ (Lady of the Lake) was awarded with Best Film on Environment Conservation/ Preservation in the 64th National Film Awards. The 72-minute long movie is directed and produced by Haobam Paban.

The award carries one citation, Rajat Kamal and Rs 1,50,000 each to the producer and director. The award will be presented by the President on the 3rd of May at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Loktak Lairembee was premiered at the 21st Busan International Film Festival 2016. The film is based on a short story written by Sahitya Akademi awardee Sudhir Naoroibam.
